Well hello there! I’m so happy you dropped by my blog and I hope it is an inspiration to you in any way that you so need :)

First thing’s first– I am nothing special, simply a student with a dream of sharing my passions through my blog. So with that said, I hope you enjoy it just as much as I enjoy publishing!

If you’re not up for reading my massive narrative (vv), here’s a shortened version just for you!

1. God is my top priority. There have been and will be bumps in my relationship with Him, but the truth is that I have been saved by His redeeming and everlasting love. Praise God!

2. I love to eat healthy. It makes me feel great about myself and puts me in a stellar mood. But I also love to LIVE, because that’s what we are on this earth for, right? I love to indulge in my favorite things often, because it keeps me balanced and happy!

3. I believe our bodies are our temples. They are given to take care of and to nurture. To me, that means treating it the way it wants and deserves to be treated. Through healthy eating, regular exercise, prayer and time with God, we open ourselves to the gifts He offers us everyday.

Want to know more? Great!…

My Faith

I believe we all have a purpose on this earth, and that is to further the kingdom of God. We all have talents and gifts, but what makes us unique is the way we utilize them. I believe each person is created in God’s own likeness and because of that we need to use our gifts to the best of our ability in order to fulfill our calling and make the most out of this awesome life!

So often we get caught up in the trials, sadness, and hardships of this life, but God gives us the abilities to conquer them if we trust in Him. People tear us down with harsh words or actions, but the truth is that we are beautiful in the eyes of Christ. I have found that seeking God rather than the world sets us free. We are no longer tied down to the chains of this earth, but ALIVE in Christ Jesus!

My Journey

I don’t have a crazy awesome weight loss story, so what you will find is that some of my advice and point of view on healthy living is not the same as others… but then again, who’s is? Some things will work, others won’t. Find your groove that works best for YOU!

I LOVE eating. I just do. Don’t hate. Before I started my healthy lifestyle and taking care of my body, I often found myself sad and uncomfortable in my skin. I didn’t feel like I had control of what I was eating and I often binge ate and chastised myself for it. Not to say that I never overeat anymore (heck, I’m having seconds at Thanksgiving!!) but I’ve attained self control and ways to monitor what and how much I am eating.

I get so excited for meal times because it means I have the opportunity to nourish my body with healthy foods and have fun doing it. I love to try new recipes and discover more ways to make eating healthy an enjoyable experience and lifestyle. I guess you could say it’s my passion (health and well-being that is).

Taking Care of Your Inner and Outer Body

I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Galatians 2:20
Our bodies are our temples. We need to take care of them physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Physically-  There is a plethora of things you should/shouldn’t do to keep your body healthy and happy. There are the obvious ones- avoiding drugs, overuse of alcohol, etc. A lot of my blog focuses on living a healthy life style, treating your body as it wants to be treated, and making eating healthy more of a lifestyle as opposed to a diet or weight loss. I am not by any means certified to start anyone on a weight loss program, so if that’s what your are looking for you are on the wrong blog!

Mentally- One of the most important aspects of taking care of your body is a positive mindset. It will do more harm then good if you continuously discourage yourself with negative thoughts. With that said, you can make just as much of a difference with positive thoughts! A good friend of mine once introduced me to the concept of self-talk. When I am looking in my mirror, thinking about how nice it would be to have a perfect body and how I just need to lose… [I] STOP! Because I have many more awesome traits, and they need encouragement too. I love the color of my eyes, they are unlike anybody else’s, and they make me…me. Self-talk is a great tool if you use it in a positive manner, it can make a huge difference.

Spiritually- We all have a longing for acceptance deep in our hearts, and God can fill that if we invite Him in. I’m not going to tell you how to live your life, but praying and listening to God’s voice and spending time in The Word can make all the difference on your inner thoughts and feelings. Seeking God in everything we do pleases Him. Even if it is just 5 minutes of worship in the car, or reading a couple verses off your phone we should always make time for Him everyday.
